I do know what you mean about the draw of a cosy bed, though this one was taken quite late in the morning while the chef walked the dear dogs. Neoprene lined wellies plus hand warmers help me out no endπ.
We have a lovely blue sunny day here in Whangaparoa Auckland. Been having col westerlies and not as warm as should be. Serena Williams didn’t like the wind and cold while playing tennis here and got beaten in the second round. My daughter say her play on the first round and said she was awesom! Pool only 25 should be 27 but cold nights. I usually only have a sheet on at this time of the year!
You have my rueful sympathy, Yvonne. I recall that 21 degrees C felt really chilly when we lived in south east Asia, these days it would be a good summer’s day in the UK π.
Deep frosts aren’t that common here either these days. Several years ago there would be the odd day when even the trees were rimed, it was so beautiful. I hope you get at least one good one in the next couple of months.
So lovely. I took a picture of just that in a bed at the university yesterday.

Sedums are such brilliant border plants aren’t they? I wonder if the way they excel at catching frost is why they have the common name ‘ice flower’.

I love Sedums, in all their stages. The new rosettes are already showing in mine.

Me too, Christina. I didn’t think to look for new growth yet, but you’re quite right, even here they’re sprouting at ground level.

Indeed, it is one of those cyclical things I look forward to like the first peony noses poking through ….
