Are there different forms of stellata Kate? yours looks to have a hint of pink.

Yes, there are pinker forms Brian, one is named ‘Rosea’. Although ours is pink in bud it bleaches white when fully open. I’ve also read that winter temps affect the colour tint …. Is the mature specimen you have in your garden pure white in bud too?

Well…I haven’t looked too close to be sure, although I am fairly sure it is white.

Here the earliest so far look pinker in tight bud this year, how strange ….

There’s a light fragrance, Cynthia. Mainly, I love it for the long profusion of pretty pink tinted blooms.

You captured that just as it opened, lovely. I love to see magnolias but we have a frost here this morning Kate, I hope your flowers don’t get caught.

Luckily stellata blooms profusely over several weeks so, paws crossed, some should escape the late frosts.
