
‘Gentle Hermione’ is particularly resistant to rain. This lovely, fragrant rose was named after the faithful wife of Leontes, King of Sicilia, and mother of Perdita in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale.

I recall watching Monty on Gardener’s World laboriously but lovingly unpeeling the constricted outer petals on partially opened rain-blown rose buds a few years ago and blesssing this rose for not requiring me to have to do that.
