What a great combo with the grass.

It’s a lucky one, too. It heads sideways for whatever’s in the nursery bed rather than be persuaded to head up the rose pergola.

Lovely to see the flowers rising above the grass. Is the clematis planted throughout the deschampsia?

I planted it at the base of a climbing rose but as it’s a short (0.5-1m), non-clinging semi-climber ths integrifolia works better here as a scrambling highlight to ‘ground cover’. I can see it would do well with low shrubs too.

Lovely, delicate combo. I love the integrifolia clematis.

Me too, Sam, I have several different sorts of them around the garden – they’re great for draping over walls or tall pots too.

Thanks, though originally unplanned, I now look forward to seeing them together like this come early summer.

It looks very exotic.

Yes, it does, I often think it would look lovely climbing up pot grown ginger lilies ….

Like this one – and I am sure there is space for more clematis here…

I’m sure you could, Cathy, only takes up 1×0.5 metres and as a non-climber can be used as scrambling ground cover.

I already have a few non climbers and could certainly slot in some more! I will make a note of this one.mm
